Old Log Theatre
Matt Elless was born in Fargo, ND. In 2010 Matt decided that he wanted to pursue his passion in cooking and moved to Uptown, Minneapolis where he attended Le Cordon Bleu in Mendota Heights, MN. During which, he worked and progressed at Crave. AT Crave, earned a sous chef position at the downtown location.
In 2014 he followed his heart to take a chance working at a remodeled Old Log Theatre with a new concept called Cast & Cru. Always wanting to work at a farm to table restaurant, it was the perfect fit.
Matt creates modern American dishes, trying to tie in molecular gastronomy with traditional dishes. He refuses to use the word “I” as he knows that without his team he would never accomplish what he’s looking to do.
Melinda Norman started her culinary journey like many others, by making messes in her parents' kitchen. Her first job was in a small Italian bakery in the Chicago suburbs. After getting her culinary degree, she worked everywhere from fine dining restaurants in Chicago to delicatessens in South Carolina. She is thrilled to now be part of the growing food scene here in Minnesota at Cast & Cru!
Gene joined Cast & Cru in 2017.
